Whether the services are billed by a hospital, physician practice or freestanding radiation treatment center, this session will offer valuable information to cope with the challenges of documenting and billing for radiation oncology services in 2023. The session will highlight coding and reimbursement differences for physicians and hospital settings. The educational session will focus on correct coding for external beam radiation oncology procedures to include but not limited to 3D, IMRT, SRS and SBRT. Attendees will receive an overview of the process of care for the external beam treatment course including clinically relevant examples and scenarios. A review of each code will be provided along with required documentation and examples of published payer instructions. A focus on compliance will also be provided to include a review of authoritative guidance, National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) edits, payer publications and reimbursement concepts affecting radiation oncology practices.

Various resources and reference information related to radiation oncology coding and billing guidelines will be provided. This seminar is ideal for anyone involved in coding or responsible for charge capture or documentation in a radiation oncology practice, freestanding treatment center or hospital radiation therapy department. Each participant will receive a copy via mail of the 2023 Navigator® for Radiation Oncology, a comprehensive reference manual.
